NXPC Fission

NXPC can be exchanged for collections of NFTs through a mechanism called "NXPC Fission". When NXPC is exchanged for NFTs, it is removed from circulation and can only re-enter circulation when NFTs are exchanged back into NXPC. The detailed process of NXPC Fission is outlined below.

Item Pool

  • MapleStory Universe items, such as weapons, armor, and cosmetic items, are systematically managed within the MapleStory Universe and have a limited supply. These items are stored in a repository called MapleStory Universe Item Pool ("Item Pool").

  • As the ecosystem evolves, new items can be introduced into the Item Pool. These new items adhere to the same fundamental rules: each has a limited supply and can be exchanged for NXPC.

NXPC Fission

  • NXPC holders can redeem their tokens for a collection of NFTs from the Item Pool. The collection of NFTs obtained through NXPC Fission is called a "set." Each set includes all available item types remaining in the Item Pool, containing a fixed percentage of each item's maximum supply.

  • For example, consider an Item Pool containing Items A, B, and C, with current and maximum supplies of 100, 200, and 300, respectively. If each set redeems NFTs at 1% of the maximum supply, a user redeeming NXPC for one set would receive,

    • 1 of Item A (1% of 100)

    • 2 of Item B (1% of 200)

    • 3 of Item C (1% of 300)

  • After this redemption, the Item Pool would then contain,

    • 99 of Item A

    • 198 of Item B

    • 297 of Item C

  • If multiple NXPC Fission transactions occur and Items A, B, and C become completely depleted from the Item Pool, NXPC Fission transactions would no longer be possible, as no items would remain. NXPC Fission can resume functionality only under two scenarios.

    • Scenario 1: A collection of circulating NFTs is exchanged back into NXPC through a mechanism called "Item Fusion", returning these NFTs to the Item Pool.

    • *Scenario 2: New items are introduced into the Item Pool.

  • In scenario 1, Item Fusion enables users to exchange a collection of NFTs back into NXPC. Upon Item Fusion, these NFTs are removed from circulation and returned to the Item Pool, where they become available again for NXPC Fission. (For additional information on Item Fusion, please refer to Section Item Fusion)

  • In scenario 2, if new Items D and E with maximum supplies of 400 and 500 are introduced to the Item Pool, a user redeeming NXPC for a set would receive,

    • 4 of Item D (1% of 400)

    • 5 of Item E (1% of 500)

    • (assuming Items A, B, and C remain depleted)

  • The amount of NXPC required for redeeming a set are based on the NFT/NXPC Exchange Ratet. (For additional information on NFT/NXPC Exchange Ratet, please refer to Section NFT/NXPC Exchange Rate)

All examples are for illustration purposes only and do not reflect actual information.

Important Note on *Scenario 2: This example is for illustrative purposes only to demonstrate how set composition changes when new items are introduced while others are depleted. Technically, if the Item Pool originally contained only Items A, B, and C, and those items became depleted through multiple NXPC Fission transactions, there would be no more NXPC left in circulation, as the total NXPC supply would have been redeemed to deplete the entire Item Pool. (For additional information on NFT/NXPC Exchange Ratet, please refer to Section NFT/NXPC Exchange Rate)

Creators of MapleStory Universe have an option to place NFTs in their application as user rewards. In MapleStory N, for example, this system powers the reward mechanism. The MapleStory N project receives NXPC as contribution rewards and may exchange portions of these tokens into NFTs for distribution as in-game rewards. Players can earn these NFTs through various in-game activities, such as hunting monsters and raiding bosses.
